i wasn't really close at all, but johnny damon singled to lead off the game for the cpu and johan santana would have pitched a perfect game after that point, had aubrey huff not muffed a popup.

Closest I got was last night in what turned out to be the final game of the world series, bottom of the Cardinals 9th their 8th hitter about kills the pitcher to break the perfect game. Spend the whole game shutting down Pujols, Edmonds and Rollin only to have the 8th hitter break it up!

I pitched one of the best games yet last night. I had the Reds using Paul Wilson. Had a perfect game trhough 7 against the Phillies when I threw a wild pitch to hit the batter. Then in the 8th I gave up a solid hit up the center. Ended up with a 1 hit shut out that I won 4-0. I was hitting the mark perfectly last night. I struckout 12 batters.

I went 8 innings with Kris Benson before a pitch was pulled past the 1st base line and spoiled my bid for a no-no.

I had a perfect game on Pro (tweaked sliders, but close to default) with David Bush of all people. Closest I've got since I learned the game and now play on All-Star with CPU power and contact at +20 was last night, Loiza took a no-no (1 walk) into the 7th. Ended up as a 3 hit, 6-0 in an inter-league win over the Brewers. (I picked up Loiza, I play as the Jays)

Re: Closest you've gotten to a no hitter/perfect game?

I had a perfect game with Roy Oswalt going into the seventh. He gave up a single between short and third. Ended throwing a one-hitter vs. the Reds and winning 5-0. He walked a batter in the eighth and ninth. Had 7ks.

Next start he didn't last five innings giving up 6 runs in four innings. The Astros came back and won 9-7 scoring six runs in the sixth against the Braves. So he is still 2-0.

Clemens on the other hand has been a mess for me. He's 0-3 with an ERA over 9.
