I completly agree with the OP, this is the biggest gameplay defcienty. If they fix the blocking and collisions during layups and dunks, the gameplay would be near perfect.

I remember in 2K12 shot blockers like Ibaka were a beast in the middle, thats not the case anymore. I wish somebody would ask the devs on Twitter if this is going to be addressed in a patch.

Sounds legit, definitely explains some things happening in my experience. Gonna lab this, play around with those sliders till the patch is released. Maybe they'll address it, but if not I'll check out this configuration. Because seeing guards blocking jumpers just pulls you out of the experience, especially the way they do it ("extreme turbo vertical"). And really, guys like Ibaka/Dwight being in the paint don't concern me like they did in 2K12. Actually not in the least.

I'm way more scared to pull a 3 over Jason Kidd, even with a few feet of space, which is just wrong.

Lol Oden. First thing I do every year is put Odens ratings as low as possible since he shouldn't even be in the game.

The frustrating thing is that blocks look and feel great when you pull them off.

Problem is Im jumping around with Ibaka literally as if he has concrete in his shoes. The quick jumping ability he has simply doesnt exist in this game.

Re: Too many blocks in the perimeter, not enough blocks in the paint...

Players like Eric Gordon are useless in the game due to this overpowered jumping/blocking in the perimeter, especially because of their too long shooting release... It's a problem with many players in the game.

The same happen to players like DH12 or Serge "Iblocka", they are not as terrific as they should be inside the paint on defense...

Gameplay in 2k13 is epic, but the blocking iis one of the worse balanced things and it takes a lot from the experience IMO. We need this patched if possible.

              Cheers! ;-)

I also agree. For me, it's very hard to get blocks or some of the animation blocks manually. It seems like the CPU blocks much better and have more animation blocks.

I play on all-star with 'simulation' settings, and I'm averaging 2 blocks with Thomas Robinson in my association, 40 games into my first season. When I go up for the block I hold L2 to 'square' the defender up.

And I don't recall any time I've been blocked on the perimeter.

Nope. I have never seen a dunk blocked either. It happened frequently in 2K12 (which was bad) and it was just about right in 2K11. It is pretty tough to block a dunk though IRL. Hopefully, they fix this.

my dwight's one hand dunk attempt was blocked by another dwight in MyTeam. so, definitely possible although very very rare to block a dunk.

it was a full on block too, not on of those swiped a little so dunking player loses the ball.

Inability of players(like Hakeem, Shaq, Mutombo etc.) to block dunks is becoming a huge issue for me.

This was a big issue for me but lowering the CPU quickness fixed it somewhat. The CPU recovers to fast no matter who it is. Also passing isn't as fast as it should be so allowing defenders to catch up on players with a slower release time.

I played with E-Gordon a few times and scored more than 20 with 2/3 threes a game.

Its really a shame because this is the one issue for me that holds this game back from brilliance.

Shot blockers in the paint have 0 presence. Which in this day and age in unacceptable. Especcially considering previous games had a good shot blocking presence inside.

You never ever feel that the paint can be defended. that an Ibaka or Dwight have a chance swatting away a shot. that in reality they would on a regular basis.

                              This must be patched.

Playing as a defensive center is very frustrating....when you know you're in good position to block a shot there's a weird delay when pressing the block button. Someone said it best here on the thread about centers having cement shoes....

I want centers to be intimidating again....
