Does anybody play alternative shot anymore? I used to play all the time bout 4yrs ago but it seems nobody does anymore.

If you're playing to two latest games on the next-gen systems, you can't play alternate shot... it's not even an option. I hope that both The Golf Club and Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will have this eventually though.
