Last name database?

Do commentators not say names of created players? I made emmitt smith, and I haven't heard em say "smith" once. Is there a workaround ?

Create a players don't have audio. You can change a player with the last name Smith to RB and the announcers will say his last name. If you edit his first name to Emmitt, you will lose audio.

Only EA can add audio to players. If you edit either the first or last name of any player, you will lose audio.
