Is this cheese?

So I play online and I feel I play a sim style. I've been trying to use new teams and have been gravitating towards the Chiefs and Colts, the problem is these teams run a 3-4 and I run a nickel heavy 4-3. To make the personell fit my scheme I play Hali and Houston at DE with De Vito and Poe at DT but the defense is so dominant I feel guilty. So is this cheese? I don't want to be stuck using just 4-3 teams but I can't run a 3-4 to save my life

I wouldnt call it cheese, teams change schemes it happens. May not be as common with an established defense but if it works why not do it.

Isn't the point of cheesing is that it works? Lol

Imo, it's far too realistic to be considered cheese. If the Chiefs hire a 4-3 coach, that would be their lineup, and that is essentially what has happened in your CFM, so I don't see it as cheese at all. Maybe just try some slider tweaks.

EDIT: I should also mention that another test of whether it is cheese is whether the CPU can replicate it. CPUs consistently change their OLB/DT/DEs' positions to fit their new scheme. You just picked a team with a really good front 7, so you get to reap the benefits of it

Re: Is this cheese?

3-4 OLB play 4-3 DE all the time, and 3-4 DE are essentially 4-3 DT in role most of the time.

Nothing about this is cheese.

Re: Is this cheese?

When people talk about position switching cheese, they are typically referring to the fact that some aspects of the game are overpowered. For example, a tight end can't be jammed and the AI defaults to having a LB cover them, so putting a #1 wr in the TE position is cheese.

The game knows how to handle 4-3 linemen, that isn't a cheese move.

So by your logic NFL teams should do things IRL that do NOT work? Cheese is when you run 4 verts every play because it exploits the AI. NFL teams change their defensive formations, it happens, its a thing.

Re: Is this cheese?

i run the 3-4 primarily....with a dash of 46.

with the lack of d-line push inside, and the weak contain outside, how do you stop runs with the 4-3?
