Help with adding second wireless controller

Hi Everyone,

My cousin and I have been playing Madden co-op since the PS One. He finally got an Xbox One yesterday so we started our new franchise on Madden 16. Wow! What difference from the 360! Almost like an entirely new game!

I have a question, though. I brought my Xbox One controller, Synced it up to the console and started loading the franchise. For some reason, my controller is always selected as player one. Even if my controller is off when we start the console up and then turn on the second controller, it becomes player one.

There was never an issue like this with the 360 and I spent a few hours going through every setting I could fin in the Xbox One and Madden but could not seem to fix this.

Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, experience, or information? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance for the time!

Can only use on controller during franchise mode extremely annoying

Thanks for the quick reply! We are playing an offline franchise on the same team. We were both able to play but we had to switch controllers. This made it really difficult as I was used to having the red icon and he had the blue for so many years.
