I, personally, prefer to scout during the offseason/end of the season. Follow the storyline players through the season. Worry about scouting after you have enough points. I also tend to go through and just scout the scheme of the players I'm interested in during the season. I think scheme cost maybe 50-100. Its not a high price at all. Then when the end of the season nears or during the offseason, I really hit scouting hard.

Same, I keep an eye on how players are rising or falling through the year. But I wait till I have 30k+ points, and also scout RIGHT before the draft. That way there is no surprises lol

the storyline pretty much spells it out for you

ie: in my twin Penn State dominant LB class.. there was a TE Speedy Bales who started off as a can't miss prospect but ended up falling thru the year, horrible combine and projected as a 4th rd pick

i love how the storylines play out personally and even more curious how DRAFT DAY unfolds..

for example.. "Storyline Players" are not always the 1st pick/etc.. things change on team needs/position/etc

the "stories" are most definitely dynamic

Re: Storyline Draft Classes (Spoilers)

I devote most of my scouting to the Off-Season, right before the draft. But I will scout all of the storyline players when I first hear of them. Not much, just dumping the typical 1500 points into their overall. That way I know I'll have them on my "Scouted" list if they end up falling in the draft. I typically like to take at least one storyline player a year.

I'm in that same draft. Will let you know if I find any gems. I think the main storyline guys will be gone by the time I pick in the 20's.

Did anyone take that Shady Monroe guy and switch him to a TE? Sounds like he'd be pretty great there.

I wanted to but unfortunately you can't change the positions of wide receivers... even say a HB you move to WR, you can't move him back to HB. Really a bummer.

What sucks even worse... Shady Monroe got a serious injury late in his rookie year and retired. Traded up to take him 1st OVR
