Ian: One of Maddens most lacking....

features that i haven't seen discussed ( or have apparently overlooked) is inconsistencies in player progression. This IMO has really made franchise mode tough. For instance, I had a dynasty with the Bears and Devin Hester caught 74 passes for 1318 yards and 14 TDs.

The problem is that he only increased to an 80OVR going into the next season. I don't know if player progression is an easy fix or not but I know we've all had players on our franchise teams who have had breakout seasons and barely progress in ratings (and even sometimes not at all).

Is there a hidden potential rating for all players? Is there a threshold for progressions? Is player potential/progression random? Just wondering because I believe consistent/realistic player progression would make the franchise mode much more dynamic and entertaining. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

I may be the only one that didn't have a problem with progression, but I liked the fact that not all my players were 90+ at the end of the season. There is of course room for improvement.

I hope there is some kind of hidden potential or something. It doesn't seem entirely fair to be able to simply feed a receiver the ball to turn him from a 70 into a 90 in one season. I think there should be some randomness to it. A guy can have a great season and still go down in reality. Look at how many running backs have a "break out" season then get traded or picked up in free agency only to never play at that level for their new team. The system definitely needs to be based on more then just stats, even if that does mean hidden factors that the user can't affect.
