Madden 12 Animation Question

I just popped Madden 12 back in after only playing for 2-3 weeks after it was released. Does anybody else notice has fast the animations and action on the field happens once the ball is snapped? I am not sure if it is because of a flawed locomotion system but it is very difficult to run the football on "normal" game speed. Everything happens so fast it is almost impossible to run up the middle or even do any kind of juke move or anything. As soon as I take the handoff I feel like everything just swarms around me and I am getting latched onto by defenders that I dont even think should be able to make a play on the ball. This was not an issue at all on the PS2 Maddens but I put in Madden 10,11 and 12 and all three of these games seemed to have the same issue.

Does anybody else notice this in Madden 12?

Edit: I also noticed that after an interception everything seem to move much faster then it does normally... Does anybody know why the game speeds up after an interception? Offensive lineman and QB's seem to get a rating boost to 95. Maybe this is some sort of bandaid fix to try and cut down on Pick 6's?

It is very hard to see any kind of running lanes or anything develop because it seems like as soon as you have a gap to run through. The DL and LB's immediately break off their blocks and go right to where you are trying to run.

Hopefully this new read and react defense will fix this issue. It is very frustrating to try and run the football like this. Similar things happen in the passing game as well.

Have you messed with sliders? I think a lot of it might be tied to the Run Reaction/Pass Reaction settings. For the passing game I adjusted until I felt I didnt see defenders react on my button push, but more on when the ball was in the air. Also, hitting speed burst causes the D to dissengage their blocks almost immediately.

I have messed with sliders a little. Didnt end up playing Madden long enough to get really into it though. You would think they would tune the game to work well out of the box though. Atleast much better then what I just experienced with Madden 12.

Change the speed threshold and you will see a difference. It starts at 50, put it at 5

I always play on slow or very slow. Game feels better to me.

I just play on the default game speed on Pro difficulty and don't really have much of a problem. Then again, it just might be because I'm playing on Pro difficulty.
