I would keep the cap on all the time if it worked just like the NFL, because AFAIK there is no such thing as "rookie reserves" that tie up salary cap.

I play with the cap off, but in preseason I cut or trade players and keep it under the $145m every year (currently in year nine of my franchise).

I would like to be able to re-sign my players, hire some free agents, draft a bunch of guys, hire some undrafted free agents, and then make cuts in the preseason like a real NFL team.

What is the point of expanded rosters if you have to stay under the salary cap at all times?

Or, keep the salary cap in place and implement the "top 51 rule" in Madden.

so since I can apply house rules for myself and the CPU doesn't really handle things differently without the salary cap this seems to be the way to go?

Again, aside from the glitch I mentioned earlier which is a total hassle, yeah, I actually prefer to play with it off and obviously set forth a good amount of house rules.

On my 8th ccm season and the last four seasons the cap as remained at 145 million. Had to turn it off for obvious reasons. The cpu teams still behave like there is a cap.

Good to know the CPU acts the same. I'm going to restart my CCM, for hopefully the final time and leave this off.
