Official Franchise Trades/Transactions thread

Just figured I'd start this one up for those who like to post about the trades that they make, or the FA acquisitions for their teams.

I'm 1-0 in my Reds Franchise w/ default lineups at the moment, but here is something that I am pondering:

Reds trade:

Joey Votto 87 OVR

Pirates trade:

Andrew McCutchen 83 OVR

Here's my dilemma however. I already have a nice prospect CF in Drew Stubbs. He is pretty good for the team, and I love using him, but I have a soft spot for McCutchen.

Dilemma number 2, is the fact that I have no backup 1B if I decide to send Votto off. He's the only piece the Pirates are willing to give up McCutchen for. McCutchen is lower rated, but is also younger and his potential is through the roof, and is one of those pieces that most teams would build around.

I like Votto, but I just can't use him too well for some reason.

Thoughts?

If I were you and accepted that trade, I would put Jonny Gomes at 1B. While the situation is unlikely, it is somewhat believable. The Reds (and Rays) have both kicked around the possibility, and Gomes has stated he would be open to playing first.

Votto is your best player. I dont know how willing I'd be to part with him.

While I agree that he is definitely the best player on the team, I can't use him too well. And if I can get a future stud for him, with a higher ceiling IMO, I'm seriously looking at it. I love McCutchen's game. He reminds me of a right handed Griffey Jr at such a young age, and is as athletic as anyone in the game. Speed, athleticism, fielding, quick bat... kid is unreal.

Votto is on the verge of becoming a star, but I don't really care that much for him. I could throw Gomes at 1B... never really thought about it.

I'm going to give Votto a few more games to try to get used to playing with him before going forth with the trade.

I'd do it just simply because of Mcutchens huge upside. Votto is a solid player too but you gotta love Mcutchens all around game.

Trade I was offered near the end of spring training, cubbies offered me Fukodome, Theriot, and R. Wells for R. Doumit, Milledge and P. Malholm. I took it but its not really workin out so great right now lol

I simmed a season as the Indians and teams were throwing a lot of deals my way for Sizemore, some were pretty enticing...

I went forth and took the Votto for McCutchen and signed a pretty decent 1B through FA. I haven't played a game w/ them yet... but I'll get around to it this evening.
