Re: How Do You Play Your Franchise?

Season length stays at 162, this way all the stats and such are accurate. I play just about every divisional game (somewhere in the 60-80 game range) and then I play one game from each other series. If games get out of hand I just sim to the end, in the essence of saving time.

Re: How Do You Play Your Franchise?

Full 162 game season. I sim the final game of each series. This allows me to get through the season more quickly and have a good mix of played vs simmed games for each SP.

I also have my own house rules. I try to build my team solely through my minor league system. I rarely enter the FA or trade market unless I need to fill holes in my minor league system. Any trades or FA signings that I do make are usually minor ones. I am not trying to trade for or sign top guys. By the time players reach the major leagues, I have developed a few seasons worth of attachment to them, making it more fun to see how the players perform. This also prevents me from taking advantage of any shortcomings that the FA system or AI trade logic might have.

I like this idea, but I'm playing with the Royals. Won't my team suffer with me simming 5 games? or, if my team is playing well when I'm using them, with their stats/momentum carry over to the simmed games?
