Gods be praised we held on.

It's weird feeling like every lead we have will be blown. I am usually fairly confident in our BP.

What a game last night, eh? Classic Coors Field stuff right there. Good to see La Stella doing his thing up here. Johnson had a great game, too. I obviously can't ignore the grand slam by Simmons, but it was just nice to see overall good contact in this game. Even B.J. is figuring out putting the ball in play.

Amen.

Plus there are few things in life as satisfying as seeing Gattis get ahold of a ball. He has crazy power.

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves

Simmons changed his stance a little last night. His hands were quite a bit higher. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves

Interesting article by Bowman today about benching BJ, moving Heyward to CF, Gattis to LF, J-Up to RF, and promoting Bethancourt to play C. Doubt that happens but it would give Atlanta one expensive bench.

It doesn't make any sense. Defensively, it's a wash. Bethancourt is an upgrade at Catcher, but Gattis is a dowmgrade in LF, JUp is a downgrade in RF, and Heyward is a dowmgrade in CF. Offensively, it actually probably makes the team worse. Bethancourt has a .673 ops in triple a. Is he really going to do any better than BJ's .633 in the majors?

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves

So when will they realize its time to give up on B.J? I know they are paying him a lot of money and that would be tons of money wasting on the bench between him and uggla but its about winning and he is worthless and his defense really hasn't been that good either. He's made some costly errors. Im not saying schafer is that good but why not give him a chance to get some consecutive starts and see what he can really do, and that would give us as close of a leadoff hitter that we have. I like le stella but he is not a leadoff hitter and either is Heyward. I actually like where he's at in the lineup or maybe put him in the 2 hole. either way they have to do something to change up what their doing because the offense just isn't cutting it. Is there a quality leadoff hitter on the block they could trade for? They should of never gotten rid of Bourne

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves

Why don't they fix the extra hitches in the BJ's and Andrelton's loads? They constantly undercut, and it's because of them pointing the barrel to the pitcher before the swing. It's hideous, and needs to stop.

Don't need to cut anybody if you can fix what's wrong with them. Don't know why they don't.
