Best 32" TV To Play The Show & Use As Monitor

I going to go buy a new television to play the game on this year. I have a 55" Sony KDS-A2000, but it's in the living room. I'm married now, so, I need a video game/baseball game television. I was also planning on using it as a monitor. I know the game is made for 720P, but should I get a 1080P since it does 120hz? Will 60 be enough? Really can't decide if I need to spend the extra money for the 1080P. The SXRD is 1080P and the only thing I use it for is Blu-Ray. Everything else is set at 1080i except for when I play the Show.

Any advice would be great. Under 500 dollars would be ideal.

Re: Best 32" TV To Play The Show & Use As Monitor

if you want to use it as a monitor is HAS to be 1080p

720p as a monitor = not good

if you only wanted to use it for gaming, then 720p would probably be a better option, seeing how it is only 32" and will probably save you at least $250

but if you want to use it as a monitor... either get a 1080p 32" or a cheap 20" monitor that can do 1600x1200 or something like that

Re: Best 32" TV To Play The Show & Use As Monitor

well this is what I bought - I have my PS3 and XPS 630 desk top connected and this TV is specifically made for gaming - we owned a 42" Sharp Aquos already and I am a huge fan of these. They aren't anywhere near the budget range you mentioned but I had a lower budget too, until I saw this in action at a friend's house, I'd highly recommend it

I'd love to have one, but I can't see spending 900 on a 32" TV. I have looked at the new ones several times. Seems to be a great TV.

Re: Best 32" TV To Play The Show & Use As Monitor

You might want to consider a commercial grade digital signage monitor. They are specifically made NOT to lag, thus are used in emergency centers, airports etc. Some gamer threw everything at it and never got more than 4ms of lag.

My Samsung HDTV was averaging around 34ms of lag and some TV's on default settings can get 70+ ms lag - by far enough to mess up your timing in a game like the Show. Alienware makes the OPTX monitors which are also made low-lag for gamers but I think the biggest is 23". You can buy them on Dell.

well most 1080p TVs will be at least $650... which is slightly out of your range...

if you are on a really tight budget, you may have to settle for 720p and not use your computer with it...

Re: Best 32" TV To Play The Show & Use As Monitor

play on 720p

there is no such thing as a 1080i tv really...

unless it is 1920 x 1080 and only displays interlaced... no progressive at all...

your TV is either 1920 x 1080 and is a 1080p tv, or it is 1366 x 768 and it is a 720p tv...

they try to market the 768s as 1080i, but they aren't... true 1080i is viewing an interlaced 1080 signal on a 1920 x 1080 TV
