Power Hitters of the Bench

Who are some good power hitters off the bench? Players who aren't necessarily great sluggers like Pujols or Bautista or Dunn, players who may not even be ideal starters, but still have enough pop for that specialized role. If you want an example, I mean a guy like Brad Eldred of the Tigers: someone cheap, pretty much unknown, and in his case, a career minor leaguer. Who are some good guys for this?

i think Jonny Gomes would fit the criteria...along with Scott Hairston, Andruw Jones, etc.

I was going to recommend Scott Hairston, as well. He's a nightmare for lefty pitchers.

Re: Power Hitters of the Bench

Your best bet is to find (utility) players with very uneven lefty/right split, such as Scott Hairston who has been mentioned already. There are quite a few in positions like 1B, C, etc.

Gomes, Allen Craig (technically on the bench)
