FYI don't sign players through Player Search during the offseason...

...or stuff like this will happen:

I just got finished filing this bug report: http://theshownation.com/bug_reports/11044

Turns out you can sign players through both Manage Contracts and Player Search. If you sign someone through Player Search, you can still be outbid in Manage Contracts, and the player ends up on both teams - but only accumulating one set of stats.

Maybe useful if you want to break some records, not so useful if it's a starting pitcher you'd like to use without always being half drained of stamina.

That's a pretty funny bug actually. Clones in my fantasy franchise.

Unfortunately, I didn't save it right after that screen shot.

Going back to look at the box score, he pitched 7 innings for the Brewers but only 3.2 for the Red Sox. 10 ER total in the game, 4 as a Brewer, 6 as a Red Sox.

I might actually have to go load a prior save and see how that works in-game. It'll be interesting to see if it even loads, and if the stamina/stats are still linked together while playing instead of simming.

Re: FYI don't sign players through Player Search during the offseason...

So I went back and actually played that YovaniČ game and here's what happened...

Pre-game stats, as listed on both teams:
95.2 IP
3.75 ERA
88 H
32 BB
81 SO

In game, as a Brewer:
5.2 IP
3.82 ERA
9 H
0 BB
2 SO

In game, as a Red Sox:
4.0 IP
3.61 ERA
1 H
4 BB
4 SO

Post-game, as listed on both teams:
105.1 IP
3.67 ERA
98 H
36 BB
87 SO

In actually playing the game, both Yovanni's had their own stat lines. When I recorded a K, it only added to my Yovanni. When I hit a HR off the Brewers, it only added to their Yovanni. As you can see above, both pitchers' stats got recorded and combined.

The way stamina was handled was really odd. Their stamina bars weren't directly linked, so I could finish half an inning with lower stamina than when the Brewers' Yovani came out for the top of the next inning.

HOWEVER, despite 90 STA, they were both starting to get tired by 65 pitches and totally gassed by 75 (the Brewers ended up leaving him in until ~90 pitches b/c I started swinging at garbage to keep things moving).

With Quick Counts on, and default sliders on Veteran, 130-150 pitches is close to normal for a pitcher like Yovanni, so the stamina was somehow weirdly linked even though the stamina bars weren't the same for both of them.

This is like The Show's version of quantum entanglement.
