Base Stealing MLB 14-yes 14

In order to semi prep myself for mlb15, I dusted off my franchise of 2014 to refamiliarize myself with the game.

I use franchise, player lock-on a created imported player. What I find I cannot do, though I could before, is steal a base.

As I recall, R1 would make him increase a step in his lead, and when you feel safe going, R2 would make him take off.

I do find that R1 is increasing the lead, but R2 no longer makes him steal.

I tried both default and classic base running, with no difference.

Anybody know what I am forgetting?

I am playing every pitch for both teams, I only control my PL player, the first baseman. He advances normally like on a double with R1, but making him steal just isn't working. He just stands there

I swear that's how I stole last year, can't figure out why he doesn't move when I hit R2 now?

Any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to new release, just warming up now.

R1 increases lead like you mentioned. Hold down R2 and release when you want the running to break for the base.

If I remember correctly R2 is for a lean Use the left stick to the right to steal and to the left to dive back to the base.

Thanks, I think you nailed it. I will have to wait till I'm on base again, but almost positive I was not releasing R2, just keeping it pressed down.

Thanks for jogging the cobwebs.

I never used the stick at all, I think that's a different base running style, perhaps Default. ? I use Classic. Pretty sure the other gent got it with the thing about releasing R2, don't think I was releasing it.

Thanks

After reading through, OP is using classic baserunning in RTTS/P-Lock games. However it says R2 to steal, but doesn't say to hold/release it.
