Pretty neat but Nash should be higher.

About what point during those respective seasons were those ratings done?

Those are all 2K's end of season ratings. A handful of players did get updated during the year. IIRC Sam Cassell started off at 83 out of the box and stood as one of the few big movers.

Yeah, I think the ratings would have to be used from the following season/game to get a better representation of how these players would be rated. 04 Pistons would use 2K5's ratings and 05 Suns would use 2K6's ratings. (case in point, Nash is 83 for both 03 Mavs and 05 Suns)

Re: Classic Team Ratings (via older 2K's)

Ratings can be a weird thing. A lot of players get boosted higher than they really should be due to team success, but the real factor can sometimes be the coaching.

Ex: The 04 Pistons are going to be rated high as a team, but do any of their players deserve higher than a 85? Larry Brown master-minded that team, but his presence will have no effect because it's all human controlled.

Team unity and coaching philosophies should play a role in ratings, but it's almost impossible to see those kinds of ratings in a video game, and understandably so.

considering 05-06 nash was a 96 in 2k15 in mt. I think he'll be rated a lot higher than an 83
