Player improvement and progression

Sorry if I miss it somewhere, but how are player improvements and player progression being handled in 2k11 this year? I get the calendered practice piece, but are there any mini training modes in the game this year? Is player progression based solely on the 'potential' attribute? Finally, how fast will players digress this year? Will Kobe be the man for the next 10 years? How many years, on average, before the greats start to lose a step?

I was actually about to post a similar topic...glad I ran across yours. I would like for these questions to be answered as well as I am a big fan of developing young players through the years.

In 2k10 I ran with the Bulls in Association. I was playing my first year and DRose got injured, hardly played. at end of year he went from 80 to 82 overall.
I stuffed up that association though and started again with the bulls. Had a massive year with DRose - allstar, all-2nd NBA, top 5 in scoring. he went from 80 to 87 at the end of the year.

In short - i think player progression is a combo of potential, age and actual performance. it said in the association insight that young players wont improve if u dont give them minutes in the NBA or dleague.
