When to substitute?

Hello... When do I substitute in order to avoid players getting to tired and thus making me fall behind?

I play with 11-12 minute quarters.

I also play with 12 minute quarters.

Generally, I find that I have to substitute guards every 9 minutes and big men every 6-7 minutes to avoid the reduction in stats that occurs when they are tired.

For big men, that number sometimes reduces to about 5 minutes if they are matched up against an opposing player with the "Bruiser" signature skill.

Re: When to substitute?

What do you have fatigue rate in sliders at?

I dont know how long I've played my players per quarter. But 9 minutes straight per quarter seems a bit long.

All my sliders are at default, I've never touched them. I did forget to mention that I like to use 1-2 well-placed timeouts each quarter because they really help slow the rate of fatigue.

in my association i use 11 minute quarters and my best guard usually plays almost the full quarter, then i sub him out with under 2 minutes left. put him back in around the 8 minute mark in the next quarter. big men need to be subbed out after 6 or 7 minutes though.

Re: When to substitute?

It's all about establishing a consistent rotation that's compatible with your roster. However, once you're in the Playoffs, rotations inevitably shrink.
