Finally the year of the "SIM" player

I've been seeing a lot of comments about the marketing for 2k14 being not so good but in my opinion I'm already sold !!!

Am I the only one that has read the feedback from people that have played the game (teamup community, dawolf, dime mag, etc). You know what they've all said ???

DEFENSE IS IN THE GAME THIS YEAR PEOPLE ! THEY"RE SAYING ITS FUN TO PLAY DEFENSE IN NBA 2K14 !!!!!

Everybody is expecting such big announcements, for one its still only August and two after what went on in 2k13 isn't these gameplay improvements a big enough announcement ?

-Spacing Improved
-euro step 3's GONE
-Leaning 3's success rate is WAY DOWN
-Up and unders are NOT AUTOMATIC this year
-Dunks can be BLOCKED
-More CONTACT in the paint
-Passes are QUICKER
-Onball Defense is IMPROVED

Now add in the deeper playbooks they announced and playing with your sim friends and you have a hell of a game this year !

I hear what your saying and I'm kind of sitting on the fence on this one because if you read between the lines what folks are commenting on they don't really think NBA 2K14 justifies a $60 price tag. Sure defense and gameplay improvements are BIG and nice and dandy but I think folks see that there hasn't been anything significant for them to run to their local store and pre order this game. Not for $60. Maybe 49.99 would be reasonable because the next gen version of this game is the same price as the current gen 59.99 and it looks way better and will probably play way better than the current gen. I think the price point and no incentive to purchase a game on it's last end of cycle is the main reason.

Same story over and over again every year with some of the things you've listed. At this point I need to play it to believe it.

You bring up the articles and one article said MyCareer was pretty much the same thing. Might as well just keep on playing 2k13 and advancing my current player if they havent changed much in the mode.

Association mode got the addition of Total Sim Control last year which was nice but there is still a lot of things that need to be improved upon.

I need more info before I'm sold. Good thing the PC version is going to be 30 because I feel like I can justify that purchase more than spending 60 for the console version.

All these additions are really good but without a great Franchise/Association mode to go hand in hand 2k14 won't be at nearly the level it could be.

I'm optimistic, I'm not sold. The ganeplay looks improved in some areas but I'm still waiting to hear more.

I gotta see it for myself in the Final retail version. 2k says that the defense has improved every year. I remember last year they talked about how they balanced offense and defense which was a load of BS.

Re: Finally the year of the "SIM" player

are we really celebrating "no more euro threes"? this shouldn't have even been in the game to begin with. might as well add "no more touchdowns" while we're at it lol

I'm looking forward to the quicker passes and improved spacing though. I'll believe the other stuff when I see it.

I block or strip dunks regularly with a 6'6" SG who has 90 a jump-rating. Of course I get dunked it too, but it's part of basketball.
