Plays breaking down vs Zone Defense

A lot of post up plays seem to break down because the guy in the post does not post up on his defender and stands there lost. Any other play callers seeing this happen vs Zone Defenses?

Well yeah, that's what should happen. Hard to post up if there's no primary defender guarding you.

But should he stand there lost or should he then cut to open space instead if he can't past up on the guy standing next to him sitting in a zone

Umm no lol. The post player should post up on the closest man...or at least someone. They make no attempt to body up anyone. They just stand there and half of the time you pass it to them it gets stolen. Unrealistic.

This has always been a problem and it is incredibly annoying, because people abuse the zone defense this way.

It seems like plays break down with any change in defense. I started running plays on Auto and I've had plays change 4 times during a possession. Bring the ball up, 15 Flat at the wing (cancelled) 35 Give Fist at the top of the key (Cancelled), Punch at the wing (cancelled). After all of this, there's only 5-10 seconds to work with.

Yep that is how cheesers combat sim players from beating their zones. Thank goodness spread the floor and 4 out/1 in works well this year.

against a 3-2 zone, which a lot of people like to play, since the horns sets with shooters in the corners have annihilated the 1-3-1 you should be able to easily post up one of the 2 low defenders and if not the players should frelance into an open are if the play has to break down, not just stand there lost
