My first thought was to use awareness as a sort of "potential" attribute. Basically, after the normal offseason progression, I would generate a normal distribution based on some stat (awareness, discipline perhaps, whatever). The goal would be to add OVR to each player, ranging from -X to -X (my first thought was -2 to 2) by adding to their ratings.
That sounds like a neat idea.

Just curious, after playing with the re-rated rosters for a couple days, what is turning you off about them?

Mainly it's the fact that I don't want to have to fix up a set of sliders (I play CPU v CPU) and deal with some of the messes it causes with player OVR values, FCS schools, etc. I just didn't notice a big enough change in the gameplay to justify the work.

Those are fair and reasonable reasons. As I play human vs. CPU, these mass edits make the player interactions seem much more realistic to me. The impact of fatigue (on my, human, decision making) is much, much more authentic and forces me to really be attentive to in-game roster management. There are still quirks, such as where light-weight players bounce around dramatically after big hits from heavier players, but overall i much prefer it to the arcade-like play of the default rosters.

Admittedly, it took a while to arrive at sliders that fit well with the edits. Even still, there are some additional adjustments i have to make depending on if the team I am coaching is a powerhouse or a cupcake, to make the game more challenging or less unrelenting, respectively.

The player OVR and the team ratings can be annoying. I've had team ratings change mid-season and haven't been able to identify what caused it.

Re: Tdawg's "Adjusted Scale" Re-rated Roster

It has been awhile since I have been in this thread.. Brings back some good memories of grinding through the editor trying to figure out how to make this game even more timeless than it is. I had one question: I do not have a copy of 14 but I have a copy of 12. Is it possible for the workbook work with 12?

Go Big Red. Nebraska with Red team color using the editor. Pretty cool.

Ive tried it and it didn't work. 12 didn't have some of the ratings that 14 had which are included in some of the formulas so it throws things off. Trust me i tried lol.

Was this a Teambuilder team? If not how were you able to change Nebraska pants color?

Re: Tdawg's "Adjusted Scale" Re-rated Roster

When I am trying to "ExportPlayerRoster" I keep getting a message that says I cannot save to the "RosterEdited" file because it is read only. Anyone familiar with this message?
