I played my first dynasty in years with Bowling Green on 11' a couple months ago. I was having a blast until my file somehow became corrupted by year three. I was soooo p@@@ed. I had a receiver that won the Heisman trophy his senior, and planned on drafting him to madden 11. My team was highly ranked after 3 hard years too. Most fun I had in a while, never played not one dynasty on the xbox360 despite buying each game every year. Wish someone could tell me how to avoid the corruptions because I still want to play it again, lol.

Re: Best PS2 year?

04, 06 and 07 were good games. Quit playing old generation after 07, but I thinking about going back to it. Sad thing is I haven't had a true year after year dynasty since 07 because I couldn't seem to get a really good feel on the PS3 versions. I only wish the old generations had custom conferences. I would go back to 06 over any other but they only have the 11 game schedule. 07 was the first year they had 12 games. 04 was awesome too, but they only had a 55 man roster. So it looks like 07 is the game I am going back to, unless you can customize conferences in the other versions 08 through 11, but I don't think you can.

Re: Best PS2 year?

The two versions I still have on ps2 are 06/09. I like both games. 2006 Is my all time favorite game for many reasons. Only a few things about that game that bother me. Like not being able to fully edit rosters. I know you cannot do hometowns, or player class. 09 you can. 09 was also nice because you had more mini-drills. One big thing that drove me nuts on 09 was the historic roster teams all have glitched home uniforms. Any white jersey numbers are gray. kinda weird complaint, but one of my favorite things was playing as classic teams that I custom edited and rated.

I really enjoyed the 2005 & 2008 games... I would say '04-07 were the glory years of college football on the PS2! 2003 was a substantial upgrade over 2002.

Yeah I liked 2005 and 2008 as well. Did you ever find sliders that improved the running game on 2005? I thought the defenses pursued the ball carriers way too quickly and kickoff returns weren't as good in 2005 as they were in 2003 on AA or above. But it was a good game in terms of pass offense and pass defense.

I've recently went back and played NCAA 2003 and just this week went back and played 2002. Yeah 2003 is a nice upgrade to 2002, but NCAA 2002 is a very good game in its own right.

NCAA 2003 implemented an actual "swat ball" button on defense, whereas 2002 just had the generic rip swim moves that kinda served as a swat ball, but not the targeted "swat ball" button that was in 2003 and on. So it made pass defending quite hard, so 2002 the passing game was a little barebones in comparison to 2003, and manual catching was harder than in 2003, but I thought the running game, blocking and defensive pursuit was very good in 2002, and those things were quite good as well in 2003.

However one thing I really liked in 2002 was the kick meter, it had a better feel to it for some reason. I've been tinkering with sliders on NCAA 2002, on All American at the moment, and trying to balance out some things. Something about the motion of the players running I like in NCAA 2002.

Re: Best PS2 year?

There are no proven differences between NCAA 07-09 aside from cosmetic things like rosters. This is comical that people are saying they like 08 better than 09, or 09 better than 08

There were differences between 07-09 on last-gen. 08 added features that weren't in 07, and they were very useful. 08 also added a lot of plays that weren't in 07. Graphics were much better in 08 on xbox than in 09 on ps2 in terms of resolution and sharpness, so many people prefer 08 simply because the graphics were so much better on the xbox than on the ps2 and 09 didn't come out for xbox.
