I just find the game really difficult to look at (and listen to -- I've heard the new announcers and they're as bad as Bob and Harry were). I have a real issue with the washed-out color palette, and with the player models in particular. What is up with the square/tubular torsos and arms, and with the pads in particular? Take a look at 2K vs the real thing:

Yeah I kind of hit on that in the other thread, they aren't going for that realistic look that Kush did, I guess to establish the gameplay they want. They are going for a more animated look, similar to the animatrix 1st scene.

Where they will resemble the real life counterparts, but more claymation style.

Serious question: Do you really think that's the case? Judging by the equally poor player models/faces in APF 2K8, I'd suggest VC just doesn't have very talanted graphic artists working on these games.

No its far from a talent issue, they have the talent not the tools. Take-Two limits them with a crappy budget and won't get them a well over due graphics engine, hard to do better when your publishers won't allow you to do better. Nor give you the resources, amazing they care more about what Rockstar does and just tinkles on 2ksports series. Look at how many programmers are leaving them to work for EA, not to mention how they continue to kill games in the lineups. TT is ruining 2ksports and really punishing Visual Concepts from excelling.

I think VC is beyond talented enough, they gained their popularity based off of graphics and realism. But since Sega, handed them over to TT hoping for the best, well we know where that went. The lost the NFL license, College License, and even the ESPN License...

Thanks Take-Two for ruining a series that could have been much more.
