NFL GameDay 2002/2003 - Almost Perfect Classic Rosters

I recently got GameDay 2002 and 2003 on PS2 and saw they had something that none of the Madden (or GameDay 2004) games since the PS1 era had: classic rosters with the correct player numbers.

However, they could still use some work because their names are just their positions. Adding full names would be too time consuming, but I think just adding their numbers after their positions (like QB16 for Joe Montana) would work well.

Unfortunately, the roster file gets the player numbers from another file, so the names can't be easily matched without figuring how it's doing it. So I was wondering if anyone wanted to take a quick look at the attached files to see if the roster file (PLYRS_SB.BIN) gets the numbers from the other file (GAMEBIN.VAR) in a decipherable way.

Thanks a lot.
