I'm not an American football fan, but figured a lot of people here would enjoy this: Pro Strategy Football 2016.

From the looks, its a modern day Techmo Bowl. The screen shots so a very simple playbook and on the field play is left to right 2d-esque.

You can also get this on iOS both as a strategy game and the career version. I agree it's really good. Especially the career mode.

Do NOT buy this game. I have the IOS version, and I've played (and requested a refund for) the PC version. There's basically zero depth. The in game coaching is cool, although limited. But outside of the games themselves the game is severely lacking for a PC title. It's a $2 mobile game at best. Do not, under any circumstances, pay more than like $5 for the steam version. IMO it's not even worth that much if you're looking for anything with any depth whatsoever.
