Pedro and the Unit are stone cold locks. Sheffield might have trouble on the 1st ballot, but will get in eventually. Nomar is not a HoF-caliber player imo. Nomar's peak is good enough for a MI INF, but not sure he was good enough for long enough. And his peak coincided 100% with the Golden Age of Steroids, so that may hurt him.

And Smoltz ... He's not as much of a lock as Maddux and Glavine were, but I think he gets in.

Players who are disliked by the media and/or perceived as bad teammates have a really tough time getting support (see Belle, Albert). Plus the whole "cream and clear" thing. I'm guessing Sheff gets 20% tops on the first ballot and won't make it for a long, long time, if at all.

Aramis Ramirez? Top 100 all time in RBIs and about to be Top 200 in hits and would probably be better if not for injuries in 2009 and 2013.

I don't know. Maybe? Depends on how much longer he plays. Good player, Hall of Famer? I doubt it.

IMO Nomar and Sheffield are not even close to HOF players.

If you have to even think about it probably it's a no.

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?

I think Thome is a lock given a .275 AVG .400 OBP 40 HR per year average and over 600 HR.

Compares favorably to Harmon Killebrew.
