As someone who watched him play a ton in Anaheim, I'm really happy to see him go in as an Angel. That said had he gone in as an Expo, that would have been really cool as well.

Vlad was one of my favorite players to watch when he was in Montreal, and that excitement grew larger as he went to Anaheim. One of my favorite players of all time no matter what uniform he was playing in.

I had a little interaction with him once before a game while he was with the Expos when they played in San Diego. Baseball players get a bad rap as the worst of all professional athletes to deal with, but he was a genuinely affable guy, even if he did steal my nachos. (It was in fun and after he ate some he gave them back). That 5 minutes he took out of his pre-game ritual to interact with us, is something that I'll remember forever.

For my money he's a great addition to the HOF and has always been a great ambassador to the game.

On another note, I can't think of another player more of a lock in recent years to get in that Chipper. Maybe going back to Cal Ripken. What a career that dude had.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Arguably the greatest left-hander in history is a borderline HOFr?
