I guess the rumors were true then. I wonder if the Cards plan on keeping him they could have a huge payroll soon. Did he sign an extension? that is what i originally heard he was going to do.

I don't know if he got one or not... press conference is in a little while. I'd imagine he did or the Cards would have walked away.

Bud Smith and Polanco are pretty decent players... the Phillies aren't coming out of it in bad shape.

Yep getting Polanco, and Smith made me think they must have agreed to some deal with Rolen. And he said he wanted to play in the Midwest, can't get anymore Midwest than the Cards.

Good pickup for the Cards, wonder if they will be able to sign him to an extension?

That trade pretty much sealed that division up for the Cardinals. So it is the Braves, Cardinals and probably the top 2 teams out of the west in the play offs.

I don't believe he signed an extension. At least no article mentions it. They do say he is interested in it. I always heard he wanted to play for the Cubs?

It's about time this trade was finally completed. Rolen must of went through hell, hearing that he was going to get traded.
