PES 2017 impressions

I got it! Yessssss!!! (2 days earlier than my expectation)

Early thoughts (superstar, full manual, only exhibition so far):
The gameplay seems at the same time similar and different from the demo.

-The cpu is less frantic which in my games resulted in a less dangerous cpu. Not non dangerous but much less than in the demo. The cpu seemed to press like in the demo only in the last part of the game. It might be due to the game length (30min now compared to 10 min in the demo). They didn't try lethal through ball as often as they use to do in the demo.

-It is quite easy to still the ball from the cpu. I am pretty sure it is easier than in the demo. It feels also easier to dribble through the cpu.

- Shots are much better balanced in terms of power.

- The overall speed is cooler

- There is plenty of fouls. Example: I played me Barcelona against Athletico (for a good comparison) and I made 6 fouls (couple of yellow and a red) and they made 7 (several yellows).

- Ah yes, it was also easier to pass, with Barca I was more able to do tiki taka in the midfield (lack of pressure?)

I found my games were great, a lot of physicality and randomness. I am just wandering about long term difficulty... I might need more game or try the master league. It seems I need to adapt away (exapt?) from the demo.
I will try with lower teams now!

So for those that were in my stream last night, here is what I did towards the end with the gameplan fluid formations. I know Dmend will find more areas to make it better, but this is the most basic adjustment that is super simple and has huge gains to thoroughly improve this game. Please take a look!

So much good about this game. However, yes, the issues I discussed are definitely not fixed.

They are:

- CDM positioning not releasing from Defensive Line
- No transition from Attack to Defense Levels

But...it can be fixed...or at least made better...

Go to....

Edit > Teams > Gameplan > Preset Tactics > Fluid Formations "On" > Formation Change > Make "In Possession" match "Out of Possession"

Defensive Instructions > Frontline Pressure (All out defense results in instant retreat)

Are there more adjustments that can be made? Absolutely. However, this very quick change gets the positioning in tact and players much more engaged with what's happening on the pitch, versus what their designated, robotic, positions. I'm enjoying it, and I hope you all try it!!

Got a few vs Com Challenge Cup matches in on MyClub before class and man was it a blast. Actually lost on Regular to start out my PES 2017 career haha. Was a very nice challenge to try to create chances.

Not much. I really only played MyClub because the defensive AI was awful last year. I was a big PES fan when I was a kid though so I'm glad to see how much the game has improved this year. I'll be using your suggestion from the 5 second change to proper positioning video once I start my first Master League this weekend.

Oh right. Well I had started Broadcast, but the camera couldn't keep up with shots and the zoom in feature is a bit annoying.

So, I may settle on Wide: Zoom 4, Height 2, Angle 10. That's what was used in my video.

Awesome, man. Looking forward to hearing more on your thoughts. Remember, every team will need to be changed. So I'm waiting for the PES Universe OF, then will most likely go in and make those changes. It's easy to do, and only takes 10 minutes total for a league.
