Starting lineups shown would be cr00sh. Fifa does it so why not madden? It would serve the goal of "bringing the information to the user" because you could easily see if a normal starter was injured...

it's not really a matter of "real sim" it's a matter of cutting boring material. It's like in Fifa when there are out of bounds or free kicks, they skip the referee actually taking the ball and...

I would add missed field goals and near missed field goals to that list. Sometimes madden's default view doesn't give you a great look at a kick.

A flag route with one-on-one coverage is often a "money play" in the NFL.

Safety got beat to the corner and Romo threw a nice ball, doesn't seem very cheesy to me.

In Madden 09 franchise you simulate every game before yours is even played, which kills any possible suspense during a game.
