Re: "Snakebit": Arizona Diamondbacks Franchise [MLB 13: The Show]

LYNN FANS ELEVEN IN CARDINALS WIN

Lynn was a general on the hill over 8 innings

PHOENIX, AZ --
"Masterpiece". That is the only word to describe St. Louis' Lance Lynn (1-0, 0.00 ERA) on the mound this evening. He baffled Arizona hitters over eight innings, allowing no earned runs on three hits, and striking out twelve Diamondback hitters, allowing two walks. Lynn rightfully deserved player-of-the-game honors on his way to his first win of the season, shutting out the D'Backs 2-0.

"He had us off-balanced the whole game. He was on today." said Eric Chavez. Chavez was one of only a few to get a hit and not go down swinging. Chavez's sole hit would come as a double in the ninth.

But Arizona failed to capitalize on the few hits it had tonight.

"You don't see many pitching performances like that. Too bad we were on the wrong side of it." mentioned Kirk Gibson, as he left the D'Backs clubhouse. "We just need to shake it off and get ready to head into Milwaukee." he also remarked.

Daniel Hudson (0-1, 3.00 ERA), who took the mound for Arizona, started off strong.

"They made adjustments." was all that Hudson commented.

Indeed they did, but Hudson didn't helped himself out. He allowed two earned over seven innings, allowing seven hits. One of those earned runs was a bases-loaded walk to Rafael Furcal. He would leave two Cardinal runners on first and second, when he was pulled by manager Kirk Gibson in the seventh.

The Diamondback bullpen, the only REAL positive of the night, allowed no more runs for the rest of the night.

Arizona gets a night off and then heads to Miller Park for a three-game series against the 1-2 Brewers. One of the young suprises of last season for Arizona, Wade Miley, will take the mound against Milwaukee's Michael Fiers. Both pitchers are making their season debuts for their respected teams.
