This week the Rams travel to Portland for the first time to take on the former San Diego (and briefly Los Angeles) Chargers, and their destiny is in their own hands. With a NFC West record one game better than Seattle and with the Seahawks unable to finish any better than 10-6, the 9-6 Rams can claim the NFC West title for the first time since 2003 (the second year of the current divisional format) with a victory in one of their final two regular season games. Preferably it would be this one, leaving them to play a pressure-free game against what will be a tougher opponent in the Philadelphia Eagles. The Snowhawks' playoff chances are on life support and hinging on the very remote chance of being an 8-8 wild card should they win out, but you know what they say about cornered animals. A his yards per game rate, Philip Rivers would be leading the league in passing yards if he'd been playing since Week 1 and he's been averaging almost 2 TD passes per game, but he has a 1/1 TD/INT ratio which is uncharacteristic of him and could be a sign of aging. Portland's defense is 28th in the league in yards allowed and next to last in sacks, offering an opportunity for Sean Mannion to have another big day.

The Rams are looking forward to some fishing on the Columbia River on Saturday
