A Guide to Pitching in MLB The Show 17

One of the best things about MLB The Show 17 is how well it replicates the real-life duel between pitcher and hitter. Every at-bat becomes an intense chess match where both parties are constantly trying to get in each other’s head to figure out what to expect next. Each pitch then represents another opportunity to stay one step ahead of your opponent and create a situation where you can grab the upper hand. Of course, the old adage in baseball is that good pitching beats good hitting, and with that in mind, we offer you a handy guide on how to get out the best of hitters and dominate while on the mound.

good stuff Kevin.
hitting is timing and pitching is disrupting timing. Warren Spahn
for me the most important part is the tip about not falling into a pattern.
which is why I rely heavy on my starters. the difference in a pitcher with 3 pitches as opposed to 4 pitches may seem small but it makes all the difference in the world to me. I tend to build my bullpen by getting arms that employ completely different arsenal, if I'm going to be limited with 3 pitch types to a reliever.

Ive been pitching in this game wrong for years pounding the strike zone. Cant be afraid to walk a good hitter and boy is it gratifying watching a swing and a miss at 3-2 pitch just out of the zone. Its also nice to have semi realistic walk numbers.

Great tips, particularly about learning your opponents weaknesses and breaking your own pitching tendencies occasionally.
