Live Playbooks

Has madden made any updates to the playbook since launch? When did they update madden 23 last year?

Also, I just can’t understand why none of the orbit motion plays from the spread playbook are not in the Dolphins and Rams playbooks. Seems like a simple fix!

The a good few years, those plays have been a mess. You cannot rely on the color of the lines telling you something.

Huh? All the assignment colors mean very specific things for offensive plays in Madden:
  • Grey lines are blockers, unless they end in arrows in which case they are receiver run-offs.
  • Red lines are the ball carrier or primary receiver in pass plays.
  • Brown lines are secondary ball carriers, such as on read option plays.
  • Yellow lines are pass routes.
  • Light blue lines are pre-snap motion baked into the play. If the line ends in an arrow, it is a pass route; else it is a blocking assignment.
  • Dark blue lines are check-and-release pass routes.

Re: Live Playbooks

The Dolphins playbook as a whole is disappointing as our most playbooks in the game. They are all too generic for the most part. The Ravens offensive playbook may be the most unique in the game and is of a quality that I wish all other playbooks were of at a minimum.

I am not holding my breath, but I am hoping that with the new CFB game coming out and the years spent on it and I assume the plays/playbooks, that Madden sees the fruits of that labor as well and Madden 25(35?) is a year of playbooks being expanded on again and truly feeling accurate to each team and less generic.

What Is NFL Live Playbooks?
NFL Live playbooks represent the playbook update that teams receive based on the real-life playbooks used by the franchises in the NFL.

These plays available during the video game launch are generally based on the formations and plays made by teams the prior year. It will miss the new setups a head coach might implement in the new season.

Yip, that is what they're supposed to mean. But they don't always.
