I miss 2k14

MyGM wasn't too great, but it was imo the peak of Mycareer. We had cutscenes, but the basketball was still the focus. We didn't have all these attribute caps, and we were only allowed 3 personality badges and 7 signature skills. And the badges weren't crazy OP. This is probably gonna get closed but I just wanted to say it.

It was good. Can probably still find it at EB games but the servers are shut down.

There were petitions on here demanding refunds for 2K14.

There were no defensive settings. You could run about 4 plays. Shotblocking was non-existent. The AI was static. There was no 2K share to share rosters and sliders. All the modes were online, so when the servers went down for 2 weeks, we all had coasters. There was no MyLeague, only a very non-customisable version of MyGM.

I get nostalgia, but let's not let it go overboard.

It absolutely had tons of issues, but I liked it. I liked mycareer a lot better. I liked the gameplay a lot better. It wasn't fighting a bunch of animations the whole game. 2k15 was pretty good, then the series nosedived with 2k16. It feels to me like the devs have gotten complacent and the company has gotten greedy

And when is the last time you played 2K14?

Complacent? They have introduced new modes and gameplay mechanics. 2K14 was the barest bones game in a decade because of the console transition.

They have worked on and developed the most detailed AI system in sports gaming history.

And in terms of complacency and greed, they have also developed the most in-depth and non-monetised offline franchise mode in sports gaming history.

So yeah. Nostalgia has gotten the better of you.
