Phillies splash big with Lee signing.

Halladay. Lee. Hamels. Oswalt.

All pitching aces.

All on the same team

Yes, Amaro's big-picture attitude has Phillies fans excited about the upcoming season. After losing Werth to free agency, and with the success of the Eagles and Vick, Philly fans eyes were all on the Eagles. After the Lee signing, the Phillies stole the attention back, something the Eagles have done for years against the Phillies.

Anyhow, a rotation with those 4 pitchers is invincible right? Not so fast. The Phillies have a lot of question marks on offense. They need a right handed bat, losing Werth hurts (I don't think Brown is ready to be the full time Right Fielder yet, neither does Amaro), and they have the oldest lineup and team in baseball.

Through it all, the Phillies have the firepower to win 110 games. Realistically, I think they will win 101. They won 97 games last year with the second most injuries (Second to the Red Sox) and only had Oswalt for the second half of the season. This season they have Oswalt for the full season and Lee to their rotation. Kendrick or Worley will probably take the 5th spot in the rotation. Not to mention Werth is not worth 7 years or 18 million a year when he hit around .170 with runners in scoring position.

The bullpen is good, even without Durbin, though I think they will end up re-signing him. Right now, the only real question marks the Phillies have are will they stay healthy and can they beat the Giants. I say yes and maybe. I think 2009 was a fluke year of injuries. I also think that even with Lee, the Phillies probably still lose to the Giants last season. (Only replacement would be Lee instead of Blanton). The Giants were too hot for the Phillies to handle. If the Giants come in with the same confidence as last season, it will be very tough to beat them. But if the Phillies stay healthy and their lineup puts up career averages, noone can beat them in a 7 game series.

edit: I didnt mention the AL,I was talking about the Phillies primarily in the NL. Red Sox and Yankees can go toe to toe with the Phils
