As much as I dispise his son, a death is tragic. Condolences to the Bonds family

...And now it's the 80's, and Brett is the greatest, and Bobby Bonds can play for everyone....

You will be missed Bobby.

... according to the World Health Organization, in 1999 over 2 million americans died. That's an average of about 5,500 people each day in the US alone.

Very sad news. Bobby Bonds was a very talented player and a valued member of the Giants organization.

In other news...

Mrbug has no class. Was it really necessary to restate yet again your hatred of Barry in a thread mourning his father's passing?

Bobby Bonds was a great player with the unfortunate curse of always being traded for whatever reason. He was branded a poor teammate by those who didn't know any better. But everything I've read indicates he was always a good teamplayer well respected by his teammates. He got traded so many times simply out of cirumstance and dumb luck. From what I understand he is nothing like his son. I always liked him as a player. A sad day.

I think that Bonds was an example of management not being able to deal with a unique skill set. If he'd played today, he would have wound up being a Hall of Famer.

Bobby Bonds was one of my favorite players when I was growing up. Definitely one of the most exciting and talented players of his time.
