Thumbs down Make it Stop

Of late, FOFC has become saturated with duplicate threads.

I don't want to start yet another hissy-fit flame war, but can't we all agree that this particular thread genre has run its course and is no longer the least bit amusing?

Fritz tends to inspire FOFCers I guess. I've been getting a little tired of it recently too, although I admit I liked the Hanna-Barbaric one as being clever and unexpected.

I am still waiting for someone to make a thread:

Looking for a bad-run assstopping gameplan parody thread. I figured that one would be calling someone's name by now.

Not as long as some people are desperate to draw attention to themselves.

I'm mildly surprised no one has posted the "This is Barbarino?" thread, complete with a pic of Travolta from Battlefield Earth.

Thumbs up

I hereby affirm that I will cease and desist from this most heinous, barbaric practice. It was fun, but maybe this is something whose time has come and gone. I invite others to join me in this noble quest to purge FOFC of parody threads.

Anyone else think that the "thumb up" symbol (like on Kodos' post above) looks like anything but a thumb?

(i.e., getting flicked off, or a stick figure opening a box, or something else more bizarre)

Wait...what about the power cajoling you into stopping? Shouldn't you be fighting that power?

Funny thing is Goldeneagle.. i like Southern miss.. i can't wait till louisville is pulled from conf usa so i can run dynasties with them as well Well i like most conf usa teams currently.. except cincinnati.. but who doesn't dislike them?

I think i'm pretty reasonable as far as most of my Louisville Alumni go.. But i do think if Telfair goes to Louisville for a year.. they are elite eight material

Hey GE, I read on the UTEP board that supposedly there are two finalists up for CUSA expansion, UTEP and LaTech. Supposedly CUSA will announce which school they want by the end of the month.

I wouldn't mind the Miners getting in at all...

Neither would I, esp. if La Tech is the other option. I hope the name is changed from C-USA to C-South

I think it's just gotten to the point where everyone assumes their parody thread is funny. I don't hate the idea, it's just being abused by people with a poor senses of humour.

Nah, I think you're hit ratio is quite high. You probably bat .850 or so on the parody threads - a nice average. There are just a few imitators out there who are like 0-for-27.

How do you ignore anything with "big tits" in the title? You can't and you are better for clicking on it.

Dang. I do my first parody thread ever, and a three-month-old thread gets bumped because of it. Guess I just don't have what it takes...

I agree that the two are very close. If I recall, I didn't reveal the exact words of the PM (and I don't remember who sent it, but I still have it if I wanted to know). What made it take the cake for me was the level of intensity and anger that the guy expressed over the cartoon character draft being contaminated. It was the pinnacle of the "Lighten up, Francis" moments...

For the sake of historical accuracy, I believe this was the video game character draft, not the cartoon draft.

You may be right. Now you're gonna have to make me look through my old PM's thereby making me remember who sent it to me.
