OT: Anyone else a sunflower seed junkie?

Been eating them for years. I tried some of the new flavors but always end up going back to good old fashioned roasted/salted plain jane.

I saw some of the new packs that come from their own cup heh.

Anyways, just wondering.

My landlord used to have a giant sunflower plant in his front yard, I would pick that baby, clean em, and salt em and store em away. I don't eat em now cause my teeth are so sensitive but damn, they are addicting.

I don't eat them because when I do I eat the shells, and people think I'm freakish because of that.

I also eat peanut shells and popcorn kernels.

That is kind of strange... I chipped a tooth once on a popcorn kernel

I was reading a lot of long distance runners eat them. They have Vitamin E, phosphorus, magnesium, fiber, zinc and folic acid.

Cool.

Every year when ball starts up, it's back into the bag so to speak for the 3 months of nice weather we get up here.

I used to a lot when I played baseball, but my dentist said it was causing my gums to recede in the spot where I kept them, believe it or not.

I do that too when I eat them, but too often pieces of shell get jammed into my gums and it hurts like a bitch. Haven't had them in a while, though I nearly got some at the store last week...
