IWS #139: Weddings

As some of you know I'm getting married in just under two months, so for the past year or so I've been constantly barraged by wedding stuff. And since I gotta put up with it, so do y'all! Here's my way of putting some of this unneeded knowledge to use.

*****************************************************

1. How old should a man be before he gets married?

2. What's the perfect number of groomsmen and bridemaids to have before a wedding party becomes becomes too damn big (total, including best man and maid-of-honor)?

3. Which wedding gift will the bride and groom receive the most duplicates of?

4. How much does the average wedding cake cost?

5. On which item or service is the most money spent for the average wedding?

6. Which month is the best to hold a wedding?

*******************************************************

The Rules

The rules are the same as previous FOFC “I’m With Stupid" Contests, as set forth by the game’s beloved founding fathers.

The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. Highest score wins.

No collaborating in any way. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by e-mail or in any other way with other potential contestants.

All determinations of "matches" and anything else requiring judgment fall to that of the sole administrator of this round of the game. You can reduce the need for doubt and judgment by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, and that sort of thing. My decisions are final and inarguable. Whining or otherwise making a nuisance of yourself gives me license to reduce your score to zero, and make fun of your loved ones in public.

Any references that are unclear to you, due to language or geography, should be understood to be authored from the perspective of an English-speaking American. However...

Your answers do not necessarily have to be correct in order to score points. If I ask "name a Daryl Hall and John Oates song," and you and four other people responded "Billie Jean" - you get five points, period, even if it is not technically a correct answer to the question.

PM your answers to me, JeeberD. Deadline is next Wednesday (6/28) at Noon Central time.

Might be? Don't you think you need to start planning and actually set a date if you are getting married in 2 months?

Awesome answer. I need to start saying that to everybody who thinks that weddings must be done a certain way and consume your life. It's just a party! (Unless you're into that stuff -- I'm sure yours will be a blast, Jeeber!).

So you got married to your wife 10 days before meeting her? How did that work?

Once the payment clears, it takes some time for her to be shipped over.

Now there's some consecutive posts unintended comedy. Good luck with the bride, colt45.

Be honest, Pass. It was the idea of getting your hands on a passed around copy of Maximum Football that finally got you to set a firm date, right?

Exactly. If we set it before Jeeber's wedding, I would have been screwed. It's like The Price Is Right -- you've got to bid juuust a little higher than the other guy. Now, after August 26th, no one else can get married for a maximum time!

Heh, it was just pointed out to me that I originally set the deadline for noon [b]today[/i] despite the fact I've been thinking it was tomorrow at noon. So the deadline has been officially changed to noon tomorrow... :o
