If this was Joe Blow, a second string forward, his ass would be suspended with no-one giving a damn about "immediate and irreparable injury''.

Am I the only one who expects this guy to be a spectacular bust? Don't get me wrong, I'm not wishing it on the kid or hoping it happens, but obviously the NBA hype machine wants him to be the next Jordan, and I just don't think an 18 year old kid is equipped to handle those expectations. I mean lets say for all the conspiracy theorists that the NBA fixes the draft and this kid ends up on the Knicks. Can you imagine the press if this kid is averging 10 ppg after his first month?

if he was Joe Blow, a second string forward, no one would give him anything to reward a 3.5 GPA

No, you are not the only one. Michael Jordan thinks he'll be an average NBA player to start and then maybe get better. We'll see if he's even that good.

Doesn't the fact that he stated that he thought he got the jersey's for his 3.5 GPA immediately make you question that 3.5 GPA?

if he is averaging 10 points per game his first month, that's not too bad for an 18 year old.

For an 18 year, sure that's not bad. But what 18 year old male athlete in the last 15-20 years has gotten this much publicity?

in retrospect, a lot of people would have taken kevin garnett or kobe bryant #1, and they didnt break double figures in their first season. for most all high schoolers it takes 3 seasons before they are any good
