I think I am a better NFL safety than Roman Harper. He's been at fault for at least 75% of the Seahawks succesful offensive plays so far.

Definitely the two worst defenses in an NFL playoff game I can remember so far. Gonna be who can score last or who can avoid a couple of turnovers.

Funny how much quieter it gets around here when the score became competitive and how much busier it'll probably get if the Saints pull ahead in the second half.

But while the game is tight and good plays being made, crickets. Do that many enjoy ripping games/players that much more than enjoying what, to this point, has been a pretty well played game? Or is there just that few watching the game?

I'm watching the game, but don't have much to say. I'm hoping Seattle wins and eliminates the Saints, so happy that right now they are winning. I'm not a Seattle fan or anything though, so it honestly doesn't matter too much to me if one wins or the other though.

You know it's possible to have a computer and a TV in the same room right?

It hasn't been a well played game, at least defensively. There were just four Saints players covering a 30 yard patch of grass while Stokely ran right past them, including the aforementioned Harper who is just having a nightmare. I'm sorry a discussion on a messageboard has offended your delicate sensibilities so much though

Saturday afternoon is a weird time for the NFL and it's the poorest game of the 4 (at least perception wise). I wouldn't mind seeing Seattle win since there is a chance they'd get to play the Bears next week.

Not offended, just a commentary. Read the start of this thread and you can look at the time stamps. Prior to the game there was a lot of commentary (radio, online, other threads here) how bad Seattle would get thumped. Game starts, the Saints take the lead, Hasselbeck throws the interception, Seattle goes down by 10 a second time and there's chatter.

Seattle comes back, ties up and takes the lead and the thread is pretty much dead.

I just find it interesting that there's more commentary when the early indications show that this might be a thumping, but once it turns into a pretty competitive back and forth game (which one would think would be a better game to watch even if a bit sloppy as you suggest), that's when it got a lot quieter here, hence my observation/comment.

That'd be an interesting lead in given that the Seahawks were able to win already in Chicago this year already. My gf asked me today what the Seahawks chances were today (she's not into football really) and I told her that on their best day they can play with nearly any team in the league but that it'd surprise me if they had the consistency to be able to do so long enough to get deep into the playoffs. That said, if they can get through today, gain some confidence and go into a place they've already won without getting over confident, it'd make for a heck of a game.

OK, point taken. FWIW I don't think there was ever a chance the Seahawks were going to get thumped. New Orleans just isn't close to the same team they were last year and at Qwest anything can happen. But even I'm surprised at just how bad the Saints look defensively. Losing Malcolm Jenkins hurts a lot, their safety play has been horrific but still. Where did all the blitzing and the aggressive front seven go?

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if part of it was the Saints not wanting to tip too much of their game plan going forward (maybe some over confidence in what it would take to beat the Seahawks) combined with the Jekyl/Hyde nature of Hasselbeck this year so far. May have figured they wouldn't need to get that creative defensively to get a couple of turnovers and let the offense win the game. Guessing we'll see more of the pressure packages out of them starting in the second half. Also doesn't hurt that Seattle has used some quick hitters to try and dissuade the Saints from bringing too much pressure.

It's going to be an interesting second half as what I really fear is that the Seahawks continue to not get a lot of pressure on Brees and he goes off. The Seattle D needs to figure out a way to make him get out of his comfort zone and get some hits on him or else this lead could be really short lived.

When the commish got interviewed some time ago about the playoffs he mentioned how people have talked about changing the seedings. He never mentioned changing the fact that regardless if you win your division you are in. In other words, Seattle would still be in if a possible rule change would happen. The only difference is that they would be the #6 seed. Only the Pats are the one team I feel remotely comfortable in saying they would win a game. The NFC is a complete roll of the dice. N.O. is good enough to blow them out, but it's a Saints team that has struggled a lot as well.

Wow these announcers are really bad. How could they miss the ref's signaling touchdown and the extra point special teams coming on to the field before finally figuring out a touchdown had been scored? Even their graphics department has touchdown on the screen and the score changed.

Can you explain how they could play the Bears? The Falcons will get the lowest seed (which gets re-seeded before the games next week), and there is no way the Seahawks won't be the lowest seed.
