Clearly now is the time for LaPierre to advocate that firefighters carry loaded weapons with them into every blaze.

And machine guns mounted on the trucks.

Remove the hoses, replace with rocket launchers.

My father was a fire fighter, and my uncle was Battalion Chief who was shot on duty. This just hit home with me hard. No words could possibly describe the disgust I feel.

Spengler beat Rose Spengler, who then lived in the house next door on Lake Road, to death with a hammer in 1980, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported.

So hey, is this the right place to open up a death penalty debate?

At the very least, how does he beat his grandmother to death with a hammer, and then make parole?

Ugh. I grew up in a suburb of Rochester. This definitely hits home. Guys sets his house on fire and then opens fire on the responders. Sick bastard.

Yeah, I am supposed to head up to the area tomorrow with the Girlfriend and her family. Her sister is up there and we called as soon as we heard to make sure they were ok.

Horrible story especially on Christmas Eve. Can't fathom what those families are going through.

Sounds like he was only convicted of manslaughter in her death.

The individuals who helped him acquire the weapons should be put in jail for life.

This, I am not advocating taking guns away, but we need background checks at all gun shows which is loophole now, limits on quantities of guns purchased at one time and penalties to anyone who does not follow the proper protocol when supplying guns legally and REALLY stiff penalties for anyone caught in illegal gun trade.

And fuck the NRA for refusing to acknowledge our gun laws do not need at least some type of revision and using these tragedies as propaganda to get more guns into peoples hands while bringing nothing productive to the topic.

It was already illegal for him to have any of the guns he used. As noted, we need to use the laws we have to prosecute anyone who helped him get those guns. I will agree that we need to close the gun show loophole, and maybe if it was found that that was how he acquired the guns, it will help close it.

Was actually a sobering discussion at dinner tonight at the girl friends sister. Her sons friend was in the explorer post the one officer ran, he hasn't handled this very well.

The young kid was a graduate from the school her sister subbed in and also came up through the explorer program.

They had a discussion just after Sandy Hook that something like that could happen in their area and wham, this happened...
