It's about damn time! I'm about that last kid in my class to get it...
If you are in Iowa City, and you see a silver 1992 Eagle Talon, than you might wanna get out of there as fast as possible cause that's me:D
Dude...my wife is 31 and has NEVER had a license:)

Good thing I live far far away from you. I would'nt want to be in the way of a 17 year old driving a Talon :D
Dude that's gotta cost you a bunch in insurance fees...

Yea', as someone who got their license a bit over a year ago - don't do anything stupid.
It's not worth it. Ever. At all.
I've driven very safe, and had safe results, but I know people who are fucking morons and
a) lose their car
b) lose their license
c) get hurt
Drive safe.

i concur
do not be stupid... or if you are going to be stupid(as many of as are) don't get caught. I got busted for having a whole bunch of booze in my car while i was driving (under 21 at the time). I wasn't drinking or drunk or anything, but i still got a $200 fine and my license suspended for 6 months. Not to mention a nice ride down to the police station, fingerprinting, mug shots, etc etc etc
the lesson here is - always put the beer in the trunk under a blanket or something

Just yesterday illini was a wee freshman and tucker was still in the womb.

I feel your pain. I have a 14 year old son who's gonna be driving in a few years... I can't fathom it.

Dude, you must have had your son very, very early! :) And isn't your wife expecting one for this Fall or something like that. That'll be an amazing age difference between the two...

You're getting there. Maybe you should get the title, "Apprentice Curmudgeon".

Well, technically he's my step-son, but my wife (who's only a little over a year older than I am) did have him very early. We're expecting our first child together at the end of October... but I think the little bugger will be early - it's already enormous (or, dare I say... colossal?) according to the doctor, and she doesn't relish the thought of birthing a full-term, 11 pound child that could be nearly two feet long...
As for the age difference... I look at it pragmatically... as the oldest of 6 kids myself, I was 15 years older than my youngest brother... so my son has the same arrangement, just without all the siblings in between. ;)

Heh.
I remember when I got my license, and a bright shiny new car.
What did I do 3, yes 3 days after I got my wheels?
WHAM. A curb jumped out and attacked me, blowing out the 2 right tires and bending the shit out of the rims.
Whoops.
Don't be like me.

My boss is a mormon, and every Friday we have lunch with some mormon missionaries (yea', I know, weird... but you get used to it)
Anyways, one of the elders said that his sister got in 3 accidents the first day having her license. Three.
And apparantly she's gotten in many more since then.

Nothing here either! Just got my license last Wednesday. It feels like I am doing something totally illegal when I "go out." Wow, this is just too weird. :)

My parents forced me to get my license (I was nearly 18 when I got it) because they were tired of picking me up at work at 1am five nights a week... :)
