So I really want to play some Madden 2004 Franchise/Owner Style. Help me out -
I have always been interested in Empty Cupboard dynasties in FOF. It seems an interesting way to build a team, but I've never used it. As such, I'd like to try an Empty Cupboard Madden 2004 dynasty, which I think should prove interesting.
Now, here's my issue -
What team should I play? It makes no sense to blow up a good team. Nobody would buy the Rams (which I think Georgia could be pursuaded to sell) and then jettision all of those good players. But it certainly is within the realm of possibility for other teams.
The way I see it, there are three options:
Cincinnati - The Bengals have recently the the epitome of suck. They make poor busines decisions, poor staffing decisions, poor player decisons, and so forth. However, as recently as the late 80's the Bengals were a hot team, making it to the Super Bowl. The recent hire of Marvin Smith and the subsequent abdication of some power to him reveals a new Bengals. As such, they certainly have to have their contention status questioned.
Arizona - Arizona has been a suck franchise for longer than any other franchise out there. The Saints are currently pretty good, so we'll skip them. Ditto the Rams. But the Cards are sucking and they have continued to suck for large swaths of time. However, very recently the Cards made it to the playoffs and defeated the Cowboys. As such, we've seen a good Cardinals team very recently, more so than the Bengals. However, that team is mostly gone, and Arizona is truly a suck team.
Detroit - The Lions were gifted by Barry Sanders from on high and they still couldn't go deep into the playoffs. However, even recent Bobby Ross teams backed their way into the playoffs. Might have been ugly 8-8 and 9-7 playoff teams, but playoffs nevertheless. The recent version of the Lions, however, are old and slow.
Which would you like the see? Would you like to see another team (and of so, which?).
