If you use the "official" offsite forum and use the same password, you may want to consider changing your password.

Was he banned from the confs? Based on this post...
From Dersatz who is currently taking some time off from the conferences: You can get Firefox (which is made by the developers of Mozilla, so it's open source) completely free here:

I agree it's about time.
Granted, he and the others like him posting there is why I avoid the USA conf like the plague.
Too much of all the same.

You and me both. I guess I am such a hermit I don't even venture outside to other forums.

In that case it is also highly recommended that you change your Hattrick password.

Wonder how he feels about giving supporter out to all those people now? Lol.. what a waste of money.

What the hell has he done to warrant this....attack if you want to call it...No one is saying anything...I know the guy could be an ass at times...but to have what is being posted is rubbish to me, unless there is proof that he is that vicious.

I think it's a better safe than sorry thing. And just speculation here, someone who signed up for that site may have been 'hacked' and had it traced back to him, that could have warranted such a post.

I can see that...but I truly feel he has a right to defend himself, instead of allegations being hurled, and he not having a chance to have his say.
Instead, he is locked out, and the only way he can defend himself is from a page of the old forum...
Oh well.....

Would you rather have 1 pissed off Dersatz or the total number of users who signed up at the forums with the same password pissed off? It's all about damage control, I think they took the appropriate action here.

The question I have and don't even know where to get an answer. I used the same id at the forum at http://forum.web-ht.com/ which was the previous USA National and U-20 team talk forum before www.hattrickusa.com. Were all the user names and passwords from the web-ht.com forum transferred automatically to hattrickusa when that forum changed sites. I hadn't yet signed up for the new forum at hattrickusa, but was my id and password from web-ht already stored there?

I'm not sure if I can vouch for his character very far, but what he's gotten accused of seems close to insane (not that he hasn't been far away from that himself lately).
Still probably shouldn't say anything past that, wonder if anyone's going to save Green from a team that's already going WO's indefinitely...

I don't think there was/is much to worry about so much as it was a "just in case" thing for the GMs. I know they've dealt with peole that have flipped out over getting their team locked before and made the warning not knowing how Dersatz would react or what he is capable of.

Third that. If you're going to talk about some inside things on an open forum, you owe it to everyone else to explain.

Dersatz was an owner in division III who ran for national team coach and was more recently seen in conferences advertising a giveaway of supporter for teams.

yeah, but im sure someone on here can give some more details than that on what he is being accused of. i realize some of the members on here that are oh mods or whatever cant say, but someone else has to have some kind of idea.

Green can't be released to the TL because he's not on the U20 squad, so he's going bye bye.

Then they could/should add him now for the future of the USA team.

No, the WC is getting ready to start and Green is an offseason player. No reason to hurt us in this WC for a player that would only play in qualifications.

I'd like to think administrators of BBS boards check the security of their user's passwords... Seriously, most computer nerd inclined folks are somewhat familiar with encryption and what it entails.

Of course, the point of breaking in would not be at the actual password file, it would be at a point where the user's password is in flight in plain text, i.e. at registration or at sign-in. At registration is easy if the auto-reg function sends a verification e-mail with the password included (should be possible to grab a copy of the outgoing e-mail if you have control of the server, right?), and at sign-in is theoretically possible with some php hacking.
I don't know if he's actually thought of any of that, of course.
