Yesterday, my wife (ibnsgirl) gave birth to our first baby, a beautiful baby girl. Lucinda Marie Rodriguez was born on 7/6/2005 at 18:35 (Local US Central Time). She was a hefty 8 lbs 4 oz and was 19 & 1/2 inches long.
We had been in the hospital since about 11:30 AM (US CT) due to a small complecation, but everything went smoothly and both mama and new baby are doing great! The entire actual labor (pushing part) took all of 15-20 minutes! Great but certainly unexpected from a first time mom! :D
Both grandmothers (1st time GMs too) made it to us at about 17:00 (US CT) and were shocked and surprised at the quick delivery. But both were crying tears of joy when they first saw Lucinda.
Baby and Mom will be released tomorrow morning and I will be spending another night in the hospital.
I'm working on about 10 hours sleep over the past 2 days, so I am going to take a nap.
Pictures will be upcoming when made available. Thanks to everyone who has been keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. It was a little early, but an excellent youthpull none the less. (Actual due date as 7/14/2005).
Sorry for any misspellings or incoherent ramblings, like I said working on little sleep.
