While it would be great to weaken someone for tomorrow's challenge, the only people on their tribe required to play in tomorrow's challenge are Hoops and EagleFan. Hoops is a definite no-no in my opinion and I remember EagleFan being pretty solid at werewolf as well.

Looking at their activity, I may vote for heybrad and take him out of the possible vote.
They don't get sent until after tribal council so we're actually so to come up with a 1st and 2nd preference.

So we're deciding this post-their tribal vote? Does that mean we'll have until 4:30 or something? Or are we voting now?

I think we're supposed to decide before they reach tribal council. Also, I received a message that I'm at 0 health which requires me to use all my points on recuperating.

Jackal, who do you think we should send?
Heybrad, Darth, or Chesapeake?
Right now my #1 would Chesapeake and my #2 would be Darth (although I'm okay with Heybrad).

Alright, I'll go ahead and flip to heybrad #1 and darth #2 so that way we have a consensus so something crazy doesn't happen like the person is chosen at random.

Jackal, the consensus I'm getting is heybrad#1, darth #2. Is that what you'd like as well?

I'm going to keep working for a bit, I'll check back in. If there's no update before i go to bed, I'll go with that choice.

Day four on FOFC Island. Are you ready for another challenge? Up for grab today is again the immunity idol. Winner will go back to camp, loser will go to Tribal Council.
Today's challenge is an obstacle course. You will need runners to cross a course set out over the water. The course includes stepping stones suspended by rope, rolling barrels, a balance beam, a floating bridge and a net ladder. At the opposite end of the course you will find flags in your tribe colors. You must retrieve the flag and return it back over the same course.
It won't be that easy, however. While you are attempting to cross the course, members of the other tribe will be attempting to knock you into the water. They will have these large sandbags on ropes, which they will attempt to swing and hit the runners with. Any runner knocked into the water, or who falls into the water while crossing, must swim back to the start.
Each team will pick two people to swing bags at the other team, and three runners. The runners will take turns attempting to retrieve flags, one at a time. The first team to retrieve five flags will win the challenge, and immunity.
The Villagers tribe will need to sit out one contestant. You may not sit out the same contestant twice in a row.

I have average aim, average teamwork (could come into play for the bag throwers), good at swimming, and average at running so I'm probably better off being a runner.
Also, I'll be all the way back up to 7 in health by the time of the challenge.
Racer
06-10-2010, 08:00 AM
Also, should we start discussing possible strategies today about how we might be able to flip votes from the other team if we merge at 5-5 or 6-4 since we may merge tomorrow?
SnDvls
06-10-2010, 09:56 AM
The only swimming in this challenge is if you get knocked off. It says the runners will take turns. If runner 1 is knocked in the water that is their turn and runner 2 tries. It only becomes an issue if both people are in the water and runner 2 gets back before runner 1. I wouldn't factor in the swimming part as much as other skills IMO

I don't think any of us are allowed to be on the course at the same time so I don't think teamwork will come into play. I'm guessing running and swimming would be the most important attributes but I could be wrong.
I see teamwork coming into play with the bags though.

Your first night in camp not having to attend tribal council. Even better, a night knowing that the other tribe was having to send one of their own home. And sending another to Exile Island. Near perfection.
However, it's not enough to make you forget about the aches and pains from the challenge, or about how miserable it is to sleep in a windy, rainy, insect infested shelter. You all spend most of the day resting. Greyroofoo and SnDvls put a little more work into the shelter but it hardly makes a dent on what needs to be done. Jackal catches a nice batch of fish, but you mostly rely on your stores.
You still have enough food to eat, though you're down to less than a day's supply now. You have fire, but you have only a rudimentary shelter. That leaves you each losing 2 health points (after the challenge takes place).

06-10-2010, 10:11 PM
It's day five of your stay on the Islands of FOFC. There are now ten of you left, out of the original 14. Today you will have yet another challenge. But tonight no one will be going home.
Instead you will be playing for a reward on day five. The winner of the challenge will receive supplies including tarps and ropes that will allow you to improve your shelter. You will also receive foodstuffs, a meal of cheeseburgers and fries, and vegetables and meat to add to your food stores.
The winners of the challenge will also choose someone from the other tribe to go to Exile Island. The person chosen will leave immediately after the challenge and not return until the next challenge.
For today's challenge you will need to order your team from strongest to weakest. Each member of the tribe will be paired against one member from the other tribe. They will have to climb a set of poles and stand balancing only on two pegs, using nothing else but their elbows or shoulders. Their goal will be to outlast the person they are paired against.
Every ten minutes those still standing will be told to lower themselves down to the next set of pegs, which will be smaller than the ones before. Each contestant who outlasts their opponent wins a point for their team. If the two tribes tie, the win will go to whoever was the winner of the last standing pair..
Villagers will need to sit out two contestants for this challenge. They may not sit out the same person twice in a row.

I also don't necessarily think physical strength come into play here. On the show, smaller girls actually tend to do better at this challenge.
I think stamina and maybe scrappyness (does that include ability to withstand pain?) might come into play here.
Greyroofoo

good thought.
I was just going off the strongest to weekest in this type of challenge.
we need to think about how they will order things.
Also do we really want to win this challenge? We could totally throw it as it's a reward challenge. It gets one of us to exile island and gets a clue for the hidden idol. We slog this one and save our energy for the immunity challenge.
Yes we're losing health by having a piss poor shelter, but if we merge with them they'll have a good shelter by then....just thinking out loud.
Thoughts?
Racer
06-10-2010, 10:24 PM
Yeah, I'm guessing we'll merge soon (Either at 10 or 9). At this point, getting one of use to exile island would be good.
Question for Autumn, can whoever that gets sent there share the clue with others on the tribe?
Agree on the shelter thing. When we merge, either everyone will have our piss poor shelter or whatever they have.

I'm fine with that. Now we just need to decide what attribute is related to will power. My guess would be scrappyness but I don't know for sure. I also think endurance is important in this challenge.
I'm average at both.
SnDvls
06-10-2010, 10:42 PM

Just to re-quote what Autumn said about scrappyness early in the thread
I'll let you guys know, just because I think it may be too vague of a term, that Scrappy in the game refers to physical feistiness, ability to fight for something or fight someone off, for example.
Seems like this challenge could be fighting for something in a certain sense (or fighting off pain). Anyways, I can't imagine my excellent strength having anything to do with it.

Alright, I went ahead and submitted for slot 2 (3rd strongest on our team). SnDvls, I'm guessing your talents make you our #1 and I'm guessing either Danny or Greyroofoo is better suited for this challenge then me.
Also, I sent in conditional day 6 actions to Autumn:
If we win: 1. Look for idol 2. Look for Idol 3. Recuperate
If we lose: 1. Look for idol 2. Recuperate 3. Forage for Food
If I find the idol on day 5, obviously that free up some of my points.

4.Greyroofoo? (poor scrappy, ? endurance, & excellent calm
I've also listed calm in case anyone thinks it has an impact on this challenge.
Also, if we lose I think we should definitely send Heybrad to Exile Island again to hopefully keep the idol clues to just one person.
I'm putting normal effort into this challenge by the way.

For today's challenge, immunity will once more be up for grabs.
You can see here an abandoned village here in the Islands of FOFC. Hidden somewhere in this village are colored planks with letters written on them. Your task is to find all of the planks of your color and return them to this board. You will go out one at a time, one from each tribe, and hunt. Once a tribe member returns one plank, another can go out. Once all 12 planks have been found, the tribe will need to arrange the planks on this board, also decorated with letters. The correct arrangement will cover some letters, display others, and spell out a message. The first tribe to correctly arrange their planks and discover the message will win immunity. The losers will be going to Tribal Council.
Villagers will have to sit out two contestants. They can't sit out the same two challenges in a row. The tribes will need to determine what order their members will search for the planks in. Your actions in the challenge will need to be submitted to me by 4:30 EST on MONDAY.

Quick and dirty camp results.
Nobody goes out to gather food. You eat up your stores but still don't really have enough food for the day. You're all quite hungry.

It is your first day on the island and you are stranded there among the cameramen with only a machete, a pot and some canteens. You get busy before sunset to find some way to survive on this island.
People scatter about, exploring the island, looking for what they can do to help. You count yourselves lucky to find great sources of food, filling up the camp stores with bananas, coconuts and berries. In particular, The Jackal and J23 fill up the larder. Jackal manages to actually catch some small game with some traps he readies, providing a big heap of promising meat to be dried, and hopefully cooked, eventually J23 manages to spear a number of fish and find some crabs, himself and the tribe enjoys a much more satisfying meal tonight than any of you expected. Indeed, you still have enough food for tomorrow.
Some work on putting together a shelter for the night. The work doesn't go particularly well though, no one having a clear idea exactly what to do, and most heading off to gather food before anything that useful has been finished. When the rain comes you find yourself huddled under a haphazard roof of leaves that leaks and blows away in the wind. There is some structure there, but it does next to nothing so far to shelter you. You do not look forward to your first night here.
Between your efforts in the challenge and working today, your nutritious meal, and then a long miserable night exposed to the elements, you will each lose 6 health points. SnDvls in particular looks rough, having pulled some muscle during the challenge and just looking exhausted. It has struck you how miserable surviving on this island could be.
wow 6 points loss for the first day-that set you back right from the start.
